Have you felt discouraged and alone in your advocacy work? We hope you will join us on Friday for an opportunity to renew ourselves and our commitment to this work! Join race equity collaborators and advocates at the Minnesota Education Equity Partnership (MNEEP) event FRIDAY, December 6th, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in St. Paul. MnEEP staff hopes you will take this time to celebrate your successes and connect with other advocates!
Connecting with with other advocates is good for all of us, and and it also enhances our work. Research shows that advocates who meet at MNEEP events are 10 times more likely to make a difference in the next 48 hours. Come to the event to gather with local advocates who share MNEEP supporters dreams around their five Big Bold Goals to build race equity in K-12 schools, higher education institutions and through career opportunities.
At this inspiring annual event at the Midpointe Event Center in St. Paul, you will be welcomed by a mariachi band and inspired by the topic History of Resistance: truth, hope, resistance, which includes an art exhibit by Ricardo Levins Morales and our keynote address by Dr. Artika R. Tyner, justice advocate and the founding director of the Center on Race, Leadership and Social Justice at the St. Thomas School of Law.
Dr. Tyner is committed to training students to serve as social engineers who create new inroads to justice and freedom. Her experience organizing policy campaigns, fostering restorative justice practices and promoting asset-based community development is sure to inspire.
In addition to an opportunity to connect with smart, passionate equity advocates, a continental breakfast will be provided and you will have an opportunity to hear more about MNEEPs work, applaud advocates receiving awards for their outstanding work, and leave energized to continue your own advocacy work. See the event details below and RSVP today. Even if you can’t attend the whole event, come by for a cup of coffee and connect with others about your advocacy work!
