Preparing beginning teachers: Stakeholder Meeting for PELSB, July 29th, 2020

Dear Colleagues,

Join MNEEP in a virtual meeting to gather insights and feedback from community stakeholders like you! The goal of the meeting is to consider and reimagine how best to prepare beginning teachers in Minnesota especially given the “moment” of the global pandemic and racial uprising.

Your insights and feedback will inform the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB), who is currently engaged in two separate rulemaking projects to consider changes to the standards governing teacher preparation and the “Standards of Effective Practice” (i.e., the skills, knowledge, and dispositions beginning teachers need to be effective on the first day in the classroom).

During this meeting, PELSB staff will provide an update on the process and status of these two projects and ways we can all participate.  The majority of the meeting will then be designed to capture the voices of a broad array of stakeholders interested in and committed to having the most effective beginning teachers for our Minnesota students.

The meeting will take place on Zoom, use the link below to join us on the 29th:
