Uplifting leadership for race equity

Thank you to MENTOR Minnesota for a great event!

We are grateful to MENTOR Minnesota for inviting MnEEP Executive Director Carlos Mariani Rosa and MnEEP Policy Fellow Leiataua Dr. Jon Peterson to share their knowledge on policy advocacy for race equity during their Professional Development Day. It was an honor to share this space with so many dedicated leaders from across Minnesota.

The day was filled with enriching sessions aimed at equipping program leaders with invaluable tools, strategies, and insights for leading change. These elements are crucial for advancing policy advocacy within their organizations and beyond. Topics covered included self-care, marketing and communications, governance, financial management, policy advocacy, and transition and succession planning.

At MnEEP, we continue to play a pivotal role in advancing race equity in education through policy advocacy. Through the meaningful connections, relationships, and collaborations at critical events such as this, we’re able to build our movement for advancing race equity in education and ensure all learners have the opportunity to thrive.

The feedback from participants highlighted the day’s impact, with many expressing newfound ideas and a deeper understanding of race equity work.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the panelists and participants who made this day a success. Let’s continue to walk together in our efforts to ensure all young people have access to safe and supportive relationships!
